Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
Swarms of cicadas are predicted to pester the east coast this summer. Here are some recommendations for what to do with them. https://www.bonappetit.com/uncategorized/article/how-to-cook-cicadas-according-to-3-richmond-va-chefs

Four-Eyed Buck,SASS #14795
The males are kind of disconcerting with their eyes being red. Big ugly looking things. N.E. Ohio isn't included in this swarms area, thank goodness. I believe Southern Ohio is ,though

Abilene Slim SASS 81783
Cicadas have been buzzing in my head 24/7/365 for 60 years. I won’t notice.

J-BAR #18287
Fish love’em! Trout, bass, bluegill. Pick up some from the shore, smack them down onto the water, and hold on!
Smuteye John SASS#24774
Last time the Great Southern Swarm woke up, we had transplants calling the Sheriff on them for making so much noise. No joke. I heard it from the responding officer. With Ft Benning so close, we have a LOT of military families living in the area and one of the little ssubdivision nearby backs up at a heavily wooded creek bottom. The cicadias cranked up in the woods and some housewife called claiming that folks were down in the woods making so much noise that she couldn't even think. Waxahachie Kid #17017 L
We called them "July Flies", down in these parts. I think of hot weather, when I hear them, or are reminded of them. I did not hear any, when I was overseas in the military. It was good to hear them again, after I finally got back home. W.K.
Snakejaw_Joe
Usually round here you hear cicadas in July/August. But past few days I've been hearing them already. Come August its going to be like a biblical swarm. Id be lying though if I said I didnt like the noise. I find it comforting. Reminds me of my childhood camping trips. Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
Last time they came it was a heckuvaracket, into august the noise started dying out as the had done their reproduction thing and died. Only the ones who never got lucky were still chirping. Then they too died.
