One of those choices would be fine with my wife. The other, not so much. :D

I would err on the side of caution.

Yeah... me too... I just put my last bike up for sale today on Craig's List.
It was SO hard to do... this one is the best Harley I've ever had.

I am sorry to hear this bgavin.
I am really not sure how I will do when it’s time to put away my two wheels of happiness. I have decided that a CanAm Spider might just be the thing to get, but that’s just an idea.

I followed your bike accident with great interest... as I follow the San Diego bike accidents along with those here in Sacramento.

Guys are getting hit and/or killed almost daily.
My bride has trashed spine disks, and cannot ride with me at all.
One of my lodge masters got run over at a stop light, by a texting woman who simply drove over the top of him.

I've ridden for 57 years without major injury, so I figure my luck is about run out.

Neither do I. Neither does duck duck Go. It sends me to Urban dictionary, where it says let somebody else drive you around in their car while you chill and get drunk. Does not seem to have anything to do with motorcycles.

So what does "chill ride" mean?

I am guessing it’s what we call a “Cruise”.

The buyer is coming today for my last bike.
I'm doing the transaction at my buddy's auto repair shop, and not my home.
This will let me avoid getting a 38 stuck in my face and my bike stolen.
I've already turned down one guy trying to pull the Cashier's Check scam.

[ edit ]

It turns out the buyer was a swell guy in every aspect.
A real gentleman.
He was absolutely delighted with the bike (for his wife).
She got one look at it in the ad, and rode him until he agreed to buy it.
I got full asking price and gave $200 of that to my buddy for allowing the deal at his shop.

That was my last bike... and the end of a long era for me.
57 years riding without a major accident.
I got out before my luck ran out.

PSSST!

Don't let on to Pat's Better Half, but here's the custom build he's getting himself as a retirement gift!
