Wallaby Jack, SASS #44062 Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 .... just in case you think ... "and the steering wheel too!" ........ that beetle wears Victorian number plates, ... .... so, although the engine might have been stolen, the steering wheel wasn't ........ ...... but that doesn't explain the ankle monitor on the blonde ........ .... which might explain the missing engine ......

Back when we still had vehicle inspection in Florida, they would put the little sticker that showed that you had had your vehicle inspected on the left side of the windshield at the bottom. The driver's side. Every state I have seen that has inspection and therefore has inspection stickers, also put them at the bottom of the left side of the windshield - the driver's side. Now if that beetle has Oz plates, as you say, and therefore lives down under, where they drive on the left side of the road, and the steering wheel is on the right side of the car, why is the sticker on the left side of the windshield? The passenger side?
Eyesa Horg Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 They put that damn sticker on the top center here, hidden by the mirror so you can forget to renew it!

The passenger side? Not now, .... but back in the goodol'daze, .... we used "rego stickers". These were issued after the annual vehicle inspection and payment of the prescribed payment for another 12 months of "roadworthy-ness". These stickers were displayed on the kerbside quarter window, until they became unfashionable, and then on the kerbside of the windscreen. This was so that the particulars of the label could be viewed, and varified, without standing in traffic (it was a requirement). The sticker is correct and is what tells me that the beetle is Victorian, along with the design of the number plate. 15 minutes ago, Eyesa Horg said: They put that damn sticker on the top center here, hidden by the mirror so you can forget to renew it! We, apparently, "cured" that problem by doing away with the stickers altogether. Now we don't have any clue as to when it's due again.

Alpo Posted April 29, 2022 Author Posted April 29, 2022 After much dredging through memory, I have at last decided that that is Lee Remick. No idea of the movie, though. Anybody recognize it? The picture I posted is from Telefon. I'm asking about the first picture, where she's holding the kid.
