Snake-eye, SASS#45097
I was taking inventory of my caps and came across a tin of CCI no. 11 magnum. Where would they be used instead of regular no. 11.
Tequila Shooter
In my pistols I use both and to tell you the truth I don’t even notice the difference.
Prairie Dawg, SASS #50329
Subs like APP and Triple 7, and the pellets for 50 caliber rifles are supposedly harder to ignite, so a "magnum" percussion cap was designed to do a better job. I only use real black powder, so I have never tried them. But, when my pard Coffinmaker sets off his pistolas filled with APP and a remington #10, a discernable "pop--bang" can be heard. I think it has more application in rifles. --Dawg
Colorado Coffinmaker
HA!! Not actually Monsieur Prairie Dawg. The only time I get a distinct "Pop-Bang" is when I screw up and leave a little space between the Ball and the Powder. Shame on me. To date, I have found absolutely no advantage to so-called "Magnum" Caps. No difference in ignition at all. I would suggest your CCI #11 "Magnum" can be used interchangeably with "others"
Crazy Gun Barney, SASS #2428
These days, I would be ecstatic to find any tin of caps....
