Gasoline prices.

This government doesn’t care about “we the people”. They have an agenda and if you ain’t brainwashed enough to think it’s just peachy, well, they don’t care.

I saw a Chevron station with premium for $4.75 a few days ago.

Must be why I never buy gasoline from Chevron.

Some of it is supply and demand. Most of this price increase is, uh, hmmm, how... uh, well... is being driven by political forces (my parent company is oil/gas so I hear the conversations, see the memos...) so conversation over.

Enjoy your new normal.

Electric charging stations are coming soon. That way the tree huggers can travel about in their Teslas while the flyover folks sit at home because the gas prices are too high. The best part is that everyone will be subsidizing these stations even though only those with incomes over $100K will be taking advantage of them. It's a Win-Win situation!

My neighbor went on a ride to California with some of her friends in their Tesla.  She said,  never again.  The time it takes to recharge is the downside.  And if you have to wait in line.....

More electric cars equal more needed power generating infrastructure to charge cars. That equals higher coal plant output. Enough electric cars will eventually need more fossil fuel powered electric generating because wind and solar just ain't gonna do it. Not currently anyway.

More electric battery powered cars also equals more hazardous waste to be contended with when these batteries wear out as well as incredible high cost of battery replacements for these automobiles.

Those are two discussions fossil fuel denying :D electric car freaks never want to have.

My company in attempt to feel green and satisfy some bizarre itch installed electric outlets for recharging the few electric cars some of our greengeeknerdengineers drive. All the guys with their diesel trucks were more than happy to lineup and plug in their oil heaters. :D

...wait did somebody say more coal?   That cant be possible these are "Electric Cars" we are talking about.  Maybe the original issue was ECLECTIC automobiles.

I really hate the dinosaurs I'm glad they are all dead - it serves them right for creating all of this fossil fuel.

Reno, Nevada, or as we now call it Nevadafornia, diesel is $3.49 $150.00 to fill my truck...yikes.

Lithium is highly toxic and very, very flammable.  electric cars have been known to catch on fire in accidents. Once it gets going its sort of like magnesium. It doens't like to go out.

Well it's $2.38.9/gallon here.

That's up from not too long ago, when it was below $1.50/gallon.

Lots of "reasons" as to why the increase.

Lincoln, as it as turned out, was wrong. The government, "of the people, by the people, and for the people", HAS perished from the earth.

Now it is just a race to get re-elected, and to see how much stuff they can give away, and to see how far they can distance themselves from what our Founding Father's had in mind, and initially set up, and to redefine what is male, and what is female.

We are too unconcerned, too lazy, to study the history of our government....too unconcerned, too lazy, to vote....too unconcerned, too lazy, to run for office ourselves, so we can hit a lick against what is trending today.

Freedom actually is just a word...until you lose it.

There is a mighty struggle going on, right now, to turn our country from capitalism, to socialism, to anything goes, and most don't seem to see it, or don't want to see it.

The future ain't what it used to be.

Haven't see gas for a buck a gallon since about 1988.  And that was at a no name station (it was called USA Gas) just down the street from a Shell that charged a bit more.  It was nice to fill up for $10.  Of course I was only making $4.25 an hour back then so it was still more than 2 hours pay to fill my tank.

I checked into getting a hybrid Ford f150 after seeing Texans use it to generate power to their Homes and discovered the batteries last about 6 years according to the dealership and are expensive to replace and even a hybrid can't run if the batteries are no good.

Haven't seen very many Elec. cars  here yet. And, No charging stations at all. Guess my area isn't big/elite enough to have them. Have seen a couple CNG set ups, mostly for RT buses or commercial trucks, though:rolleyes::blink::blush:

Nothing up here north of you either! Mostly hybrids if anything.

Sam's Club closed their operation in this part of Arizona about two weeks after i renewed my membership.  They wouldn't return my money because I could still shop on line. That's been over two years ago and I wouldn't set foot in one of their stores if they were giving everything away free.

I’m not interested in waiting around for two or three hours while the battery in my vehicle charges up, even if it IS free!!

AND!! It ain’t free!!  We pay for it in taxes or higher prices!!  ALSO!!  Taxing me for your “free” recharging is totally unacceptable!! That sort of governmental meddling should be stamped out entirely!!

Here in the Tucson area close to my house:

Fry's - $2.96

Chevron - $3.09

I watch the market price for a barrel of crude oil.  That will have a large part in determining the price of a gallon of fuel....prior to all the added taxes.

At this writing:

Oil - $59.60

1969: $0.19 per gallon for AMOCO regular gas at the station down the street from the high school in the Nashville suburbs!!

Regular Winston cigarettes were $0.25 per pack out of the machine at the station and a 12oz Coke was a dime outta’ the machine!!

I made $5.00 an hour building truck caps for pickup trucks and doing repair work at the local camping center!!  I worked evenings and weekends and paid $25.00 a week room and board to my mother who did my laundry, prepared my meals, and cleaned my room.

I made my own car note, but my folks made sure my insurance was paid. It costed $99.00 a year for full coverage and my car was four years old!!

Those WERE the days!!

My SIL has a Ford Flex that needs a new battery....for almost $11,000.00.....and he'll have to wait a month to get one.  Seems they don't have any in North Carolina.
