salt is a necessity of life and used since ancient times as a seasoning, a preservative and a disinfectant.  I put it on watermelon, cantaloupe, cooked vegetables, steak and eggs.

I use salt sparingly.  It’s not good for ya’ in large quantity and there are other seasonings that offer more and better flavor with less detrimental effects.

I use pepper, (several different varieties) in place of salt and have experienced a lower average blood pressure as a result.

Having tried salt on different melons and other fruits, I only find it pleasing on tomatoes. Not bad in small dashes on cucumber.

Yes. If I cut an apple into 6 or so pieces I like it on that too.

Yep....and raw veggies of most any kind.

Blood pressure?  I eat a LOT of salt and my BP averages 123-128 / 70-78  Oxygen retention os 93-95%.

Watermelon - yes.

Cantaloupe - yes, and a little pepper too.

Honeydew - likely.

Tomatoes are a fruit, so - yes.

even a dash of salt in a glass of V8.

add in most vegetables.

chicken, beef, turkey

The doctor, and lack of a gall bladder, took me off of swine flesh, but before that, yes.

No on watermelon...why, I don't care for watermelon!

Other melons....No . I like the natural taste of melons, they don't need anything to change their flavor!

Salt and melon do well together.

Also, chop up a sweet watermelon into salad squares and squeeze a couple lemons on top. That pairs really nice.

I know from personal experience that one Oklahoma farmer back in the early 1950's salted some of the watermelons in his patch with rock salt from his shotgun.
