Ohhhhhhh Kayyyyyyy ... so (this has to be asked) ... why does the ship "Ever Given" have the word "Evergreen" painted (in really big letters) on the side of the boat??

Will we "EVER" know?? s10.gif.468a79512b4d3db9329bff78ab453401.gif

The media didn't want to offend green people?

Widen that section to two lanes like the other parts of the canal.  Otherwise require ships that are longer than the Channel width to not enter the single lane section when cross wind velocity makes these monster ships difficult to stay in the channel.  Another option would be to require escort by tractor tug(s) in the single lane sections.  Widening the canal would be the long term solution.

Simple solution:

Since it was the ship's engines failing that caused the ship to lose control and ground itself, why don't they just demand a reeeally big outboard, be attached before the ship enters the canal.

Don't bother to thank me and remember I'm here all week!!

Start by firing the stupid SOB who jammed it in the passage in the first place.  Just as a starting place.  You can keel haul him later when no one is watching.

The follow-on article with this was talking about an impending toilet paper shortage (again).
Evidently Brazil produces 20% of the world supply of pulp for TP, and these shipping problems are aggravating the supply of pulp.
