Before I get too invested in this, how easy is it to load and unload the conversion cylinder if I don't have the gun modified by cutting the recoil shield? Goody, SASS #26190 Posted March 26, 2021 Share Posted March 26, 2021 Drive the wedge out, pull the barrel/load lever assembly, remove cylinder, knock spent brass out of cylinder, load fresh rounds, reverse to reassemble. When I got my Walker converted, I did cut the frame to load from the rear, but my Dragoon, being a real Colt, Ieft alone and use the take the barrel off method. But, be advised, the Walker is a BIG gun. Walker is in my left hand. Right hand is a 7.5 inch SAA in "milspec" configuration. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
