Bad Bascomb, SASS # 47,494
Reality hits the Bascomb household. In my early SASS days I explored several categories and decided REAL MEN shot .45's, and were CLASSIC COWBOYS........ Over time I built up my ultimate system; Bisleys, super '73, a Coyote Cap hammered double...... even got chaps and spurs. Shot it twice, won the category at our club annual, and then discovered my right foot can't tolerate the spur situation, or indeed, a real boot anymore. Sold the chaps, the spurs, and here are the Bisleys, after a nice rest in the safe..... since 2009. Arthritis precludes duelist shooting of pistols (required for CC category) this heavy, and although the lowered hammers help, it just isn't fun for me anymore. I'll stick to being a Cattle Baron and shooting .32's 2-handed. I know, i'm an old wus....... but that way I can still enjoy the game. These were purchased with some work already done (short base pins and serrated front sights) and then I sent them to Wes Flowers (West Fargo) for full action job and short stroke. Besides the spring tuning and smoothing, the front of cylinders have been beveled, rear of barrel squared, forcing cone reamed, and rear sight notch widened. One set of black polymer grips by Ajax is included. I thought at one time to have easily identifiable left/right pistols..... Engraving appears to me to be factory laser type, but it looked nice to me anyway. Grey Ruger boxes, one correctly serial numbered, other not, no papers. PM for further details, if needed. The pair $2200 shipped to your FFL. My FFL charges $29 each for shipping, so the pistols are really only $2142......
