Sixgun Sheridan
The Corsair and FW-190 would probably be an even match. The Hellcat and BF-190 would be the dead meat.
Dawg Hair, SASS #29557
It would definitively have been very interesting, from a technical point of view, but in reality, by 1944 Germany had lost a huge number of its best pilots and their training had suffered considerably while ours were just getting warmed up. Anyway between indicated, calibrated, true and ground speeds my head hurts!
Sixgun Sheridan
It was the same issue with Japan. One can only wonder that the US Navy's kill ratio would've looked like in 1944 or 1945 had Japan's best pilots still been alive. The newest Japanese planes like the Ki-84 where the equal of any Allied fighter, but there wasn't anybody left who could really fly them.
Joke 'um
Greg's stuff is always interesting. Can be quite technical. Great information. Stay alert when watching his videos. Charts and equations may cause drowsiness.
