Bought me a new Smith & Wesson

I have had this list of Guns that I want for some time now and I had finally decided my next gun was going to be a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible, but I hadn’t decided if it would be the .45 or the .357. I was going to buy the first one I encountered, regardless of barrel length. Yes, it has been that dry here in the Costa Orste Socialista.

Anyway, I have wanted two N frames for a long time. I wanted a model 25 and a model 27. Over time (years) I gave up on a model 25 in .45 Colt. I have only seen a few in 10 years and of those 5 or 6 the lowest priced one was $1200 that I couldn’t afford. I had scratched it from my list and decided to get a Redhawk then eventually decided a Blackhawk made more sense. Model 27s don’t go for any less, but are more plentiful.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I found a new S&W model 27 Classic with a 4” barrel. I hesitated. Walked away to research whether or not S&W Classics hail the same QC issues other so-called Performance Center revolvers do - don’t get me going on these...

Anyway, I became satisfied that the Classics do not get the same bad reviews as other S&W revolvers. So I called the gun store and the 27 was gone. :(

The other night I was waiting for my wife to get some things done and I was just sitting in my living room doing a random gun search for Blackhawks when I came across the website for Ammo Bros. It’s an ammo store franchise in California. I didn’t know they sold guns. “Cool!” I thought to myself and did a search on their site filtering for “.45 Colt” when lo and behold what pops up on my screen?
A Smith & Wesson model 25 “Classic”! :D (Cue angels singing)

I didn’t realize S&W made more of these. I knew they made them in 2008, but I thought that was it.
So, Wednesday morning I called the nearby Ammo Bros and the man said “Yes, we have one in stock”...”Yay!” Says I.
I couldn’t get there Wednesday as I cannot drive. My left hand / arm is in a brace. So Thursday my wife to me to my doctor appointment then took me to Ammo Brothers and I bought my S&W model 25 with a 6” barrel. :)

I am so excited...but have to wait 8 more days to pick it up. :(

Unfortunately this revolver has a little scratch on the barrel as it has been in a case for a while. They had no others in stock but did have one in their San Diego store and one in Ontario. They were case dwellers too, subject to daily case to safe transfers and possible handling by customers. I intend to call S&W wen I get it and ask if they will fix the scratch.

Anyway, here it is. Photos I took at the gun counter.

Pat, Pat, Pat! That pistola has no bulletso. What good is that? You gonna throw it like they do in the movies,

when the pistol is empty?

And that scratch! I picked it up right away. I couldn't tear my eyes away. No, I think you should send that to me,

and I will fix it's defects for you.

Just trying to help a partner. B)

OH, SWEET!!  That is very nice, Pat.  As well as having pride-of-ownership, you'll so enjoy shooting your Model 25 Classic.

I do love all my 45 Colt revolvers, especially my two S&W's.  I've shown these pictures before, but I'll do so again.  Both are such sweet shooters!!

Awe Birdgun, those are beauties for sure. Both of them. I would love to find a Mountain Gun like yours. Actually I did but the guy selling it was in the San Francisco area and all handgun sales here at Costa Oeste Socialista have to be face to face. Also he wanted $1200 for it. Just a bit high plus a 600 mile drive. I had to pass.

Too bad, Pat.  This is how the Smith & Wesson obsession begins!

:o

Well, this will make number 8. Would be 9 but I dumped a 60 Pro due to S&W bad QC-itis.

I would love to get a 4" model 27 next.:D

One of my regrets trading away my M-25 enjoy.  My advice dont fix the scratch put more on it yourself.

You buy it, and you have to wait days to pick it up???

Oh yes...looked at your location, and I see why that is.

At some point, I am praying that some Pards will run for office, and begin to push back.

We all need to flush the government toilet.

If any public official has to take an oath to: "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America", then they break their oath of office if they are anti-2nd amendment. That should (but seemingly isn't) be grounds for removal.

Sadly, the people that are elected to office, is a direct reflection on the education, and awareness, and maybe even the intelligence, of the voters...or obviously, the lack thereof.

Not my only N frame but I have a 1917 Army that I inherited. But I do like .38 and .357 N Frames. Here are most of them. M28s, M27s, M520s, and a .38-44 Heavy Duty.

Gotta love a N-frame in 45 Colt. I have 3: a stainless Mt. Gun, a blued Mt. Gun and a blued one that’s been old enough to vote for quite some time...
