Nickel City Dude
I remember reading that .22 was exempt from the magazine limit of 10. I have not been able to find a copy of the law itself on the web. Does anyone have a link to the actual law that I could read to find out about this for myself. I know that 22's are exempt but I am not sure weather or not that applies only to tubular magazines or does it also apply to box magazines? Link to comment
Goody, SASS #26190
Here's a good interpretation. https://giffords.org/lawcenter/state-laws/large-capacity-magazines-in-new-york/ Link to comment
John Kloehr
Without quoting law, because I don't have it in front of me. No detachable magazines over 10 rounds (exceptions for certain grandfathered magazines). .22 rimfire permanently attached tubular magazines are not restricted. On edit: I think the restrictions are in the SAFE act, look there first. Link to comment

Major E A Sterner #12916
That's why I said "Good Luck", They don't want you to know what the law says and if you call the State Police Firearms division and ask them, you will get a different answer from different Troopers. Link to comment

The SAFE Act is on this page (scroll down past the summary section), has link to download a pdf. https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2013/s2230 Link to comment
