Post in metal roofs made me think about when I had surgery. Nurse asked do you have trouble with falls? I should have said “No I have no problem with falling, but getting back up I do.”

I fell a couple of months ago and suffered with painful ribs for about five weeks.  I don't like pain because it hurts.

I'm going to try not to do that anymore.

Interesting (sort of) how as time passes one becomes extremely careful going down stairs...

Was walking at a local park with the bride yesterday. There was a long rustic (log risers) stairway that we often go down. Holding the timber fence rail, using our walking sticks. Not that we're that feeble, but we're that cautious.

A forty-something guy rattles past, skipping down the stairs after one of his kids. Then he turns around and heads back up, leaping them two at a time.

I thought-- I did that, not so long ago...

Not just the ability, but the lack of fear of falling. I remember that, too.

I recently had a doctor ask me if I had trouble falling. I told her I had issues landing. That got me an eye roll. :D

This was in the emergency room after I fell off the back of a hi-rail truck and broke my left arm and hurt some other things.

I fell because my foot slipped climbing off that truck and the handholds suck on the left and don’t exist on the right...that and the morons I work fit wouldn’t pay to power up the line so we had to tow trains instead of run them under power. Idiots!

Wife fell about a month ago, has been complaining about her shoulder/arm. Says she can't lift it very high. She's made an appointment for orthopedic Doc tomorrow. Maybe rotator cuff injury:(
