Having a problem with new computer software!

Recommended Posts

Just got a new computer (desktop style) that has Windows 10 as it's operating system. My old one had Windows 7 Pro. I am not wanting to discuss advantages or disadvantages, just solve a couple of problems.

The company I bought it from transfered all my files and data to the new one.....at least thats what I thought. My problem is with email. All my saved files from email (address book, group mailing, and saved emails) were not transfered....at least I can't find them. I also am trying to set up a group email for one of my club mailings which I am secretary for. Just cant seem to get this to happen.

My email is working fine otherwise. Anybody know how to do this?

Create a group.
  1. Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management.
  2. In the Computer Management window, expand System Tools > Local Users and Groups > Groups.
  3. Click Action > New Group.
  4. In the New Group window, type DataStage as the name for the group, click Create, and click Close
  5. =====================================================
Add group emails to a single contact in the People app
    1. Press Windows Key + S and enter people.
    2. Select People from the list of results.
    3. When People app starts, click the + button to add a new contact.
    4. In the Name section enter the name of your group. ...
    5. After you're done click the Save icon in the top right corner.

If you bought a new machine, you should still have your old machine.
If they got STUPID and did a MOVE instead of a COPY, then your files could be anywhere.

Otherwise, your files should still be on the old machine.
Moving them yourself is annoying, but it is not a data loss.

So can you log into your email account go to sent items and forward an email with the group of emails you have?

From the forwarded email copy all the email addresses in the to: line and dump them into a new group email header on your groups list.
