That looks SOOOO Cool! Big hassle to get ready for a ride, but that’s all a part of the fun, I’m sure. All it needs is a scabbard for a 73 Winchester. B):D

Guess if you lived 5 miles from your destination and had to be there by 9am, you could get up around midnight to get the thing going and make it there by 9. Guy doing the interview seemed to know more about the engine than the maker. Asked questions the guy stumbled over to try and answer. But, maybe a design engineer asking the guy who makes them how it works.

I have worked on rail passenger transit for over 30 years. We have these folks we call “foamers”, they prefer we call them “Railfans” or “Rail Fans”, but these folks can tell me things about our our railcars and wayside systems that I don’t know about or knew but had forgotten about.

Example, how many times have you removed all the parts from a particular firearm and thought to yourself “Gee, I should learn all the exact dimensions of each screw and part for future reference”? Probably only if that info was important or pertinent at the time.  A “fan” would deem this info very important. If this were a steam engine or a locomotive and you were talking to a “Fan” you would be discussing what you do to make it work and they, having memorized each component or process, could baffle and befuddle you with questions that the answer really wouldn’t matter in most cases during the course of your work.

Step 1 for any trip by steam powered motorcycle:  Write yourself a note stating were you are going.

If you don't do that, you will have forgotren your destination by the time you have steam 'up'.
