Ace_of_Hearts
Found this in a gun shop today. No manufacturer stamped anywhere I could see. Tag says Remington Model 9 - $199.00 Internet research shows Model 1893. No clue on value or suitability for modern ammo........ Condition = Poor (Bluing gone.... stock dented and scratched but easily repairable. Bore looks good. 12 ga, single shot. Internal hammer, lever on the side cocks the hammer. The Verdigris Kid
I posted a pic of a Remington ad for the #9, what makes you think it is the earlier 1893?
The Verdigris Kid
Trigger guard in your picture matches the #9 and not the 1893. Also the hinge pin matches the #9. The 1893 had a Purdy style button to remove the forearm to break down the shotgun. The #9 forearm didn't come off, it was broken down by removing the hinge pin itself. The #9 also had an automatic ejector instead of just an extractor.
