Then pick up another tool head for the .45 ACP

vidette
It can depend on what accessories you have, such as a case feeder. From Dillon's website: Quote To change calibers, you will need: A Die set for the new caliber. A Caliber Conversion Kit. If you have the optional electric casefeeder you may need a different casefeed plate. Please refer to the caliber conversion chart in the Instruction Manual. If you are using the Mr. Bulletfeeder you may need a caliber conversion. Also consider a caliber conversion change kit: Quote You want to convert your XL650 to a different cartridge, but are unsure of what to order? We make it easy with the XL650 E-Z Change kit. This kit contains everything you need to convert your machine to a different cartridge, and leave your adjustments set up. This kit includes: Die set Caliber Conversion Kit Powder measure Powder Die Toolhead Toolhead Stand https://www.dillonprecision.com/xl-750-xl-650-e-z-change-kits_8_2_26743.html
DeaconKC
A new Dillon should have both large and small primer bar and tubes with it.
grey ghost
My 650 only came new in the box with large primer set up. Purchased 10 years ago. My 550 from 25 years ago came with both. According to dillon 650 only comes with 1 size.
Iron Horse Mac
Thanks guys, lots to consider. Looks like everything is delayed coming from Dillon including conversion kits. It looks cheaper and just as timely to get a new xl750 direct from them.
vidette
FWIW, the delays are bogus. In November, I ordered dies that had alleged 14 week backlog and they shipped in a week.
Iron Horse Mac
Fire Boss, is your price negotiable? $680 is the current price for the new version, xl750 from Dillon.
Gambler Rob
Hi Pard. You say it is unopened . May I ask when it was purchased? There were changes made to the 650 over the years. Thanks.....Gambler

I just ordered .38/.357 pistol dies, tool head, powder die, and conversion kit last week and just received a shipment notification last night. They are definitely overestimating the backlog.
