A lot less than hiring a bunch of people with shovels and buckets working by the hour for a week or so.

 

BTW, speaking of working by the hour, were those six or seven guys watching with their hands in their pockets on the clock?

 

My dad would have said that the guy driving was "good enough to change a diaper...if he'd clean the bucket up first".

I've long marveled at the skill I've seen, men running a backhoe ... I like Forty's observation about changing a diaper!

When they talk about heavy equipment, and they mention a weight, is that the weight that the equipment can handle, or the actual weight of the vehicle?

 

He said the little backhoe was a seven ton unit. Does that mean it weighed 14,000 lb, or does that mean it could pick up 14,000 lb?
