Howdy,

I called the Zippo folks and found out there are Zippo products around the world.

If you go to the zippo website and click help

and go down about nine and click   About zippo.

Then down ten to Zippo around the world-they list a Zippo site for almost every country.

Some are translated into english.

What is interesting is the accessories. more than the lighters.

I asked about Japan as they sell expensive lighters on ebay.

So now I sort of understand where they come from.

Italy had some six shooters on a lighter.

Im nowhere near done.

Best

Chili Ron,

Thanks for the post; however, I got zippo from it! :P

My Zippo I had in Vietnam was lost after I came home. Well...not exactly lost. I know where it is.
I was standing at the toilet in the apartment lighting my pipe. As I reached for the flush handle and activated counter clockwise whirlpool the lighter slipped from my (admittedly somewhat inebriated) fingers and splashed into the sanitation maelstrom. Gone forever. I have never been good at multitasking.
In centuries to come, archaeologists will no doubt excavate the building’s septic tank and find a strange silvery object, purpose unknown with odd pictographs and runes. :(

Howdy,

Supposedly real Nam zippos seem to bring $150 and UP.

Trench art is in...not in the toilet....

I bid on one a while back.

It started out about ten bucks went to around 40

at the end of bidding jumped to just short of 150. Sold.

Not to me.

I liked the ranger insignia on one side and the latin on the other.

Not sure if 155 would have won.

FYI. There is a closet industry in Vietnam making fake Vet Zippos. They sell a lot to Australia and are then shipped to the US.

I had a nice First Division logo on zippo I purchased while vacationing at Ft. Riley, Kansas back in the day.

Beautiful thing it was.

When the vacation time was over and I returned to the bosum of my loved ones, the lighter finked out on me.

So I sent it to zippo for a repair. Silly me. They claimed it was lost and that they had not received it. I received a new one with a Springer spaniel on it. When I decided to quit the nasty habit, I lost interest in lighters. Now my Springer spaniel & the First Division are some where out there in lala land.  Alas!

I haven't smoked in over 4-0 years but I always have a lighter on me for torches, heat shrink tubing, trash burning etc.

Guess I wouldn't need it if I lived in the city.

Lighters are nice, but I’d rather have a flamethrower.  Sorta similar.
