This is just another piece of excrement trying to rewrite history to suit the left’s agenda and fulfill the “Cancel Culture” goals of the revisionists!!

Silly me , I keep thinking we are getting to the absolute height of stupidity , but they keep raising the bar.

Revisionist history. I am glad I'm old. But my soul cries for my Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Rex :D , Texas born and raised , lived there over 50 of my 78 years.

If you really want to get down to it, our nation's very existence is "racist". It was formed on land taken away from the indigenous people and the government itself was created by an assembly of wealthy and politically powerful white slave owners. Women, blacks, indigenous tribes, Chinese, etc were not a part of its formation. As unfortunate as it was, that's what happened and it's history. You can't celebrate the Fourth of July without celebrating these white "racists" who created this nation. The whole reason why we also celebrate people like Martin Luther King Jr. as well is to acknowledge those who said "Hey, what about us?!? We count too!". But it seems some of the political left want to take it a step further, have a "Cultural Revolution" like Chairman Mao did and erase all of the nation's history that doesn't agree with their values. In other words, pretty much all of it.

It is a very good article.

This article also proves that just because someone is educated it doesn’t mean they aren’t a dumbarse.

The same could be said about Central America, South America, India Africa, Australia and almost any place colonized. Genghis Khan started westward expansion and it went all the way around the world.

Every tribe on the American continents supplanted or was supplanted by another tribe.  The same is true on nearly every square inch of the planet!!

If this offends you, TOO BAD!! Facts are indisputable!!

Human beings are still animals!!  Some of those animal instincts are not anywhere near as base as some would have you believe!!

The ones that promote self preservation are the basis for our natural, (some read “God given”) rights!!

The people and groups that would deny you those rights DO NOT have your best interests at heart and are NOT to be trusted!!!!

Well dang, the Mexicans were racist in promoting Anglo colonies to serve as a buffer against the Comanche who called themselves "The People" and massacred every Apache or Tonkawa they came across.  It's just what man has done to each other through history...doesn't mean the history should be scrubbed , else us Anglos are on tap to be next unless we come to an understanding!

Hang up callers, we have a winner! And, one with a brain too.......

Entire real history reflects someone conquering someone else. In America the tribal Indians conquered other tribal Indians and used slaves from tribe to tribe. Along comes the Europeans and they conquer the Indians from the East cost to the West cost. Negroes conquered other Negro tribes in Africa and shipped them as slaves to America. All I have to say is;

REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!!

The current narrative is that everything done by white people in this country is racist and that only people of color and their contributions to the country have value.  I attended seminars back in Washington in the late 90s after Clinton ordered everyone to come to Washingtonn for training.  They were teaching this 20 years ago.  It has only gotten worse.

One more thing:  Historically insigificant?  I say otherwise...Anyone who was born as steeped in the lore of the Lone Star State like yours truly can point you in the direction of several reference that arrest to its role in shaping Texas, the U.S. And even Mexico. If course the good professor at the University of Berkley at Austin may have and does have other opinions. They did ask other historians, finally, but dang this Buenger has a great deal of influence on how Texas history is taught.

Well, get the ropes and tractors, etc., and locate every statue of Houston, Austin, Crockett, Bowie and Travis, and get ready to pull them down!    If I could pass the physical and SpaceX could hurry up with the Spaceship to Mars, I'd sign up instanter! Stop the world...I wanna get off!

Bronze age societies overwhelmed and dominated stone age societies they encountered.

Iron age societies did the same to bronze age societies.

Industrial age societies did likewise to iron age.

Industrial age peoples, finding North America, in taking what they needed, swept aside the stone age savages then occupying the land.

Human history.  Get over it.  America feeds and leads the advancement of the world.  If anyone thinks the Cheyenne or the Aztecs could have done better, they're nuts.

Letting stone age peoples continue to eek out their meager traditional existence in the name of fairness or preservation is the same as keeping a zoo.  And just as superior minded.

All well and good to dercry the evil past of our society.  Comfortable in your easy chair, with modern pharmaceuticals preserving your life, its easy to look down your nose at the history and society that gave you all you have.  So superior.  What did you contribute?  What life or death risk did you take?  Go chew some buckskin to make it soft enough for me to wear.

While I agree with what Sixgun Sheridan said, it has to be tempered with the bigger picture. This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.

there are those that deny the holocaust so im not surprised by this but if you look at the incident i will counter that it was an act of ethnic cleansing on the part of santa anna and his racist government - overwhelming force and without mercy , one might say a hate crime by the mexicans ,

now - would i put it in those terms - no , it was a time of turmoil and war , it was what it was , an outpost overwhelmed by a superior army , but it did what we credit it with in the big picture - tell the historian publish his original works rather than plagiarizing the political agenda his credentials have lost credibility

I was waiting for somebody to attack the Alamo as a symbol of racism. I wonder what took them so long. Maybe it took awhile to come up with a BS story that was even believable to their own side.

The producers already did that in the 2004 version of movie, “The Alamo”.

Men choosing to fight in the face of certain death brings me to tears of respect.   The defenders of the Alamo, Chamberlain’s bayonet charge at Gettysburg, the Zulus and British at Roark’s Drift, D-Day,  the 101st at Bastogne.  I bow in awe.  Race is irrelevant at that moment.

All who have ever lived die, feel pain, and loss, and if they are lucky love. There is a common thread of mortality for all men and women and when people become so fixated on something as race so that they make everything into a racial issue they diminish the value and uniqueness of each individuals life and the shared humanity that gives each life universal meaning to the rest of us.

The Alamo speaks of men choosing to fight to be free of tyranny. Though their fight is hopeless they fight anyway and that is their victory. And it may speak to us as our fight is hopeless though more mundane, but we carry on anyway. All in the hope that generations yet born will take inspiration and still fight to be free. Even free from the tyranny of those who would rob us of our individual rights and humanity by classifying us by race and sex and any of a thousand other ways to diminish us of ourselves and to divide us.

There was a time when that idiot would have been tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail.

I was just speaking with a former Canadian, who married a Texan and teaches school near Aubrey Texas.

When I mentioned Buenger, his assertations about the ALAMO and the comment Forty made about tar feathers and a rail, she commented: "There's still time."

Apparently, her husbands family ain't too pleased.

  So this dipdunk is the head of the Hysterical Society..........  The good citizens should hound him out of his position, just like the opposition would (has) done to any conservative instructor voicing an opinion.  Precedent exists throughout Academia in the recent past.

My physics instructor reminded us that pendulums swing both ways.

Just because some college professor thinks this is what history is, doesn't make them right. During my college days , I was in class with a few that didn't have the common sense to figure out what toilet paper was used for.

Given enough time, some people will come up with anything that gleans them their fifteen minutes of fame. This is one person's opinion, and opinions, are like armpits...most everyone has at least two. Too often we make judgments based on today's mind-set, and we fail to realize that the mind-set of that day, and age, was different. Those men stayed, and fought, at that location, for perhaps as many different reasons as there were individuals there...peer pressure; a sense of loyalty; a sense that enough is enough, and they were going to make a stand, to make a difference; a sense that they could not be defeated; a sense that help would be forthcoming; a sense of the importance of living under a republic instead of a dictatorship.  They stayed and fought because they thought it was the right thing to do, at the time. Like as not, they probably did not have lot of time to analyze all the pros, and cons, and the historical significance of their decisions, that some jerk would comment on 185 years later. They stayed, and fought, and to them, it was not a minor battle, in the backwaters of the State. Any battle one is involved in, is NOT a minor battle, let me tell you! They stayed because some of them knew that the eternal choice of mortal man is: to endure oppression...or to resist. They resisted. The mindset, back then, unlike many today, was to take liberty seriously.

One, or a million voices of disrespect, won't make a hoot of difference to me. For their own reasons, they stayed and fought, when they could have cut and run, to fight another day. The result? That stand has inspired a State, and a Nation, and the World, that hears the story. It is an example of being afraid, but staying and doing the best you can, with what you have. It inspired the Texas Army, a few weeks later, at the battle of San Jancinto.

Racist? There were Hispanics, and Blacks, and Women, at the Alamo, as well as "white" men (this page in cyberspace is white, and I am not the same color as this cyberspace page) fighting against Santa Anna. It was a good article, in that, there were plenty of rebuttals to the lame/crummy objections.

It is easy to criticize something, 185 years later, but the fact remains, this event is famous around the world, and as long as the United States exists (liberals/socialists/democrats, not withstanding), that event will live on, be remembered, and be admired, by people everywhere, that have a working, coherent mind.

It is a very fortunate thing, for him, that he stated all this in a location away from me.

Just sayin'.

W.K
