Curiosity got the better of me and I looked them up. My country music appreciation level is pretty low. I have serious reasons for not caring for country that I won't go into, and recent, (the last 25 years) country is just a bunch of Skinyrd wannabe stuff in my opinion. A lot of older stuff, I'll remember and I even like some of it.

In my opinion, generally and with exceptions, current country is mass produced pop music, with the music little different from what you would hear in top forty, sang with a nasal twang and referencing icons such as Hank Williams for credibility. I'll give you a softball:So we cheated and we lied and we tested And we never failed to fail it was the easiest thing to do

No disagreement here!! I think you just said it a little differently!! There a a couple of current country artists who, at least at times, avoid the "current country formula" and produce some pretty decent music!! The rest are frustrated rockers or marginal pop performers, with the occasional "marketing masterpiece" thrown in for good measure!!!

I'm sure I've heard it because a friend of my brother had the album, due to another song. In the meanwhile, I'll toss another that may be an easy one, given the crowd Then she told me that she loved me Not with words, but with a kiss

One of my favorite bands!! I've been trying to walk that fine line, where the right person will know the lyrics. Seems often you are that person! I did, and I will admit I've only ever listened to their more popular stuff. Rain Dance, by The Guess Who?

I’m going to predict that when you see, you might perform the old “palm-to-forehead “ move. I didn’t post more of the lyrics for fear of giving it away. I'm thinking that that is TWO lines, not one!! Great song!! I STILL sing the chorus to that one after 55 years, but the verse lines escaped me!! We do "I'm A Believer!" now and then. Maybe it's time to add another Monkees tune!!
Blackwater 53393
NEXT!! Well it's the same kind of story that seems to come down from long ago. Two friends having coffee together when something flies by their window.

If I recall correctly, written by Michael Martin Murphey. It is one of my favorites of theirs, I have it on my iTunes. My favorite is probably Valleri.
