Time for another one!!

I had nothin’ to do on this hot afternoon,

But to sit down and write you a line.

I’ve been meanin’ to phone ya’, but from Minnesota,

Hell It’s been a mighty long time...

I drive a broke down rig on maypop tires,

Forty foot of overload.

Some people say that I’m crazy,

Because I don’t know how to take it slow.

I got a broomstick on the throttle,

I got ‘er opened up and headed right down.

Nonstop back to Dallas,

Poppin’ those West Coast Turnarounds!!

That last one is Jim Croce: Speedball Tucker

Try this one!

I’m gonna rent myself a house,

In the shade of the freeway,

I’m gonna pack my lunch in the morning,

And go to work each day.

And when the evening rolls around,

I’ll go on home and lay my body down.

And when the morning light comes streaming in,

I’ll get up and do it again!

Try this one. No it's not the Country Bear Jamboree.

There's blood on the streets, it's up to my ankles.

She came

Blood on the street's, it's up to my knees.

She came

Blood on the street's in the town of Chicago.

She came

Blood on the rise, it's following me.

Think about the break of day.

She came and then she drove away, sunlight in her hair.

While somebody else works on the title to that Doors song try this:

400 hogs comes to 800 hams

And that's allot of money for a hog raisin' man

400 hogs comes to 1600 feet

The market's up and there are people waitin' on that meat

And the sound of the battle rang

Through the streets of the old east side
'til the last of the hoodlum gang
Had surrendered up or died
There was shouting in the street

And the sound of running feet
And i asked someone who said
'bout a hundred cops are dead

Actually, it’s written and was performed by J.J. Cale. He was one of Clapton’s favorite writers/collaborators. Also wrote and recorded Cocaine, After Midnight, and Call Me the Breeze among many others!!

I was working as a technician, re-wiring the studio at Bradley’s Barn when that album was recorded. We changed the studio over from 16 track stereo to 64 channel quadraphonic.  It was really impressive! The last artist to record on the 16 channel system was Burl Ives and J.J. Cale was the first to use the new system.  One of my classmates, Nick Rather, went on to be J.J.’s bass player until Cale passed away.

And yeah, my drummer who is another classmate, says that I should write a book!  I ain’t all that impressed with myself!!

I would buy it!

I remember every little thing
As if it happened only yesterday
Parking by the lake
And there was not another car in sight
And I never had a girl
Looking any better than you did
And all the kids at school
They were wishing they were me that night

Paradise by the Dashboard Light by Meatloaf.

I should add that I have a few interesting stories with that song, and I could have named it from probably any two lines you chose.

You stole my heart and that's what really hurts
The morning sun when it's in your eyes really shows your age
But that don't worry me none,

in my eyes you're everything
I laughed at all of your jokes,

my love you didn't need to coax

You led me away from home
Just to save you from being alone

You stole my soul and that's a pain I can do without
All I needed was a friend to lend a helping hand
But you turned into a lover and mother
What a lover, you wore me out, all you did was wreck my bed
And in the morning kick me in the head

I know, but I'll let someone else answer. Still waiting on one from a page back to be answered myself... LOL...

Yes...

I bet you say that to all the boys...

I don't know that it has an actual name, but it is at the beginning of You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth. You must be another Meatloaf fan

Super easy one and Blackwater is not allowed to answer because he knows it is one of my favorites...

a pony tail a-hangin' down
That wiggle in the walk
And giggle in the talk
Makes the world go 'round
There ain't nothin' in the world
Like a big-eyed girl
That makes me act so funny
Make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose, like a long necked goose
oh baby, that's what I like

A woman is a creature
That has always been strange
Just when you're sure of one
You find she's gone and made a change
