I don't know that one AT ALL!!  Gonna' look it up!!  C'MON Y'ALL!  This is FUN!!

"Alone and Forsaken" written and performed originally by Hank, Sr but it's been covered numerous times.

Try this one,

"I can't hold you close,
Darling when you're not near me,
You're somebody's love.
You'll never be mine."

***That's NOT the opening lyrics since it starts with the chorus and that would be a dead giveaway.***

Hint:  country song by a country legend but it's been covered numerous times as well.

I've been thinking 'bout our fortune,

And I've decided that we're really not to blame,

For all the love that's deep inside us now,

Is still the same.

Still no answer on this one??

I wouldn’t be disappointed if someone looked it up!!

I'm pretty sure it's The Moody Blues but I can't remember the name of the song.

I got all excited by knowing the song that I didn't look for other answers.

Marshal Hangtree beat me to it, but he seems to beat a lot of folks at this musical knowledge!

My hat is off to you, Sir!

I'm sorry, my son, but you're too late in asking...

If I included the last line, everyone would get it right away.

Nope!!  Not even close.

But that one has a similar lyric line.

It goes:

I don’t need a whole lots of money,

 I don’t need a big fine car.

I got everything that a man could want.

I got more than I could ask for.

On finding a friend, by a Houston troubadour:

Now I'm out of prison
I got me a friend at last
He don't drink or steal or cheat or lie
His name's Codine
He's the nicest thing I've seen
Together we're gonna wait around and die

I see your location. I stayed in a motel on the edge of Nashville a few years after Townes died, and took the page from the phone book that listed

Van Zandt T

It's among my treasures.

I'll have to label it, so the kids know what it is.

Or donate it to KPFT radio for a fund raiser. He was a regular performer in their back yard.

Afterwards, they used to hold a wake for him on 12/31 or 1/1 down at the Old Quarter bar in Galveston.

Townes was ......well, he was Townes.

Great story teller!! Always enjoyed his “concerts”!  More like a night at the bar with an old friend!!

We do Pancho and Lefty most every show.

Everyone I thought was cool is six feet underground

They tried to get me lots of times but now they're coming after you

I got out and I'm here to say baby you can too.......

That's a fabulous song!!  Arrangements and lyrics are among the very best!!  I'm surprised, (and not surprised) that I couldn't recall the title or artist!  I played that album 'til it wouldn't play!!
