SHOOTIN FOX
Having an issue with empties ejecting from a 97 with the Coyote Capp action job. Removed the ejector and it was flat, no extension going into the action. There is a piece of metal inside where the ejector spring should be. Is that normal or is the ejector spring broken and needs to be replaced? Any info will help. Fox
Kulshan 20262
Sounds like you need a new spring. They need to be fitted, just make sure the bolt clears it when it closes.
G W Wade
There is a steel block rearward of the ejector. Early models only had the pin. The ejector was added later to improve ejection. Maker Wright has a U tube video an how the extracter and ejector work with each other... Replace ejector when they lose spring tension (go flat) GW
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Also ck the left side extractor to be sure the thin 'leg' hasn't broken off.
Widder, SASS #59054
Ejection problems can occur with any 97, regardless of who tuned it. The answers given above should help guide you in the right direction. ..........Widder

SHOOTIN FOX
I did not want to sound like Capp was at fault. I was only asking if he did something special with the ejector system.
Outlaw Gambler
Cap did do something special with the ejection system but your problem is as identified above, a new ejector spring. Very easy fix, remove the screw and old ejector spring and instert new spring and install screw.

Eyesa Horg
Check that left extractor also. My Capp 97 didn't eject at all when brand new, it took a notch out of the hull if you racked it hard enough. Sent it out to Capp and they filed the extractor a bit ( not straight & flat but rounded). It ejects now, but they fall right at your feet. The wife shoots it left handed so the shells don't even clear her hands. That was a Cowboy model. I've checked others of the same CM model and difference is amazing. Some are good, some not so much. No offense to anyone intended
