Great ideas from great cowboys !

Thank you gentlemen for these suggestions.

I can do all of these so we'll see which one gets put to work first !

I use the following when I need to use a dipper.

Lee Precision Measure Kit - its nice to have a chart to show which one you need:

Powder Measure Kit - Lee Precision

This is a dipper that handles really small charges.  Its not part of the set but it definitely handles .32 S&W loads nicely.

.17 Powder Measure - Lee Precision

I can't find any info from Lee on just what powders they recommend with this .17cc measure or how much of said powders this measure holds. A quick calculation tells me it should hold 1.53 grains of Bullseye, which is really pushing it in the various old top break designs. I'm referring to Bullseye only, and in the .32 S&W, NOT the .32 S&W Long.

You are right.  Looking at the chart they send with the full dipper set the .17cc measure throws a 1.6 grain charge.   I use Trailboss for my loads so for the .17cc dipper it throws 0.8 grains (used in the .32 S&W/.32S&W Long/.38S&W not Special) which I have not had any trouble with.

DISCLAIMER: The below load data is assumed to be for modern .32 S&W firearms and not for the turn of the century pistols.

Here is the load data that came with my Lee 32 S&W dies. They come with the 0.17 cc dipper.

Note that it lists 0.17 cc of unique but that the load for Win 231 / HP38 is 0.11 cc.

Here's a chart for those who have not seen it. Remember there's some variation as to how you fill the dipper as well. I use the small .17cc dipper for my .32 S&W.  I use 700x and it is listed as 1.3 but I believe if I weigh it out it's 1.4 to 1.5
