Which bourbon would YOU use?

Recommended Posts

No boozy fudge, but I just made my very first batch of bourbon balls....used Makers Mary 46.....they got rave reviews, came out teal nice...Makers Mark usually doesn't disappoint

Use a premium sipping bourbon.  You can't make good fudge with cheap ingredients.

I like Hancock Presidential Reserve for such uses, your taste may differ.

There are many many recipes.  I’m starting with this but I will look around because when I do chocolate things, I like to add a dash of espresso, dark rum, and maybe orange.

My wife used to run the senior citizen trips for a bank she worked at. Once they went to the Maker's Mark plant where some of her ladies got LOADED on the bus from their bourbon candy!

So y’all must put the booze in after cooking. Because alcohol evaporates while baking. Just leaves the nice taste.

Hancock Presidential Reserve is $236 a bottle... for fudge. Man thats some expensive stuff.

Unless they have ran out of it and that is the last bottle in existence, that is a misprint on the price, it isn't that expensive.

I was always taught that you don't cook with booze that you wouldn't want to drink by itself.

This isn’t really cooking. Seems more like making a solid form of mixed drink.
