Subdeacon Joe
A Lucky Day in the Pacific Theater Bougainville. Private Charlie Johnson of Millaa Millaa, North Qld, had all the luck when he swapped shots with a Japanese sniper. The enemy's first round shattered the butt of Johnson's rifle and a fragment injured his finger which is bandaged. #ww2uncovered #worldwar2 #ww2 #WWII #WorldWarII #wwiihistory #ww2history #worldwartwo #greatestgeneration #Anzac #remember #lestweforget #ww2vet #ANZAC #australia #worldwar2veteran #Salute Original description and photograph sourced by: www.awm.gov.au/collection/C361756
