The incident happened Sunday shortly after the man took off near a school in Rio Linda and then hit and became suspended in power lines, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman told KCRA-TV. Power was shut off to about 200 customers in the Rio Linda area during the rescue, according to Sac Metro Fire spokesman Chris Vestal. Vestal said it didn't take long to rescue the powered parachute pilot and bring him down to safety. The man, who wasn't identified, was not injured. “He was trying to deliver candy canes to kids that were playing through in the community," Vestal said. "It’s unfortunate, but we all need to remember that there’s still a lot of good out in the world, there are people doing good things and to look at the brightness of the holiday season,” Vestal said. bgavin
Rio Linda is down the road from us a piece. It is many things as described above, but it also floods. One of my clients is built on high ground out there, and has taken his canoe out on the water, over the fence tops, during a good flood.
