Alpo
Started thinking about this last night. You gotta ace, you gotta deuce, you gotta fin, you gotta sawbuck. Then you jump to a c-note. Are there nicknames for 20s and 50s?
Michigan Slim
Jeffersons and Grants.
Pat Riot
Urban slang: “Taunty” & “Fitty” or “Dub” for a 20. Besides Slim’s suggestions I have always heard the $20 bill and the $50 bill referred to as “Twenty” and “Fifty”. I have also heard “Spot” behind a bill denomination, like; “twenty spot” or “fifty spot”.
Subdeacon Joe
I've read of them as Double Sawbucks and Half A CNote. (Corrected Otto)

Never anything longer. 20 spot, or 50 spot, or even worse 100 spot just does not fall trippingly off the tongue.

Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
From Wikipedia: Quote Among horse-race gamblers, the $50 bill is called a "frog" and is considered unlucky. It is sometimes referred to as a "Grant."

I've heard that, before the war, one bank in New Orleans had the word DIX ("ten" in French) on the back of their $10 banknotes. This led to the South being called Dixie. I always thought that was a bit of a stretch - one piece of paper money from one bank in Louisiana leading to the entire South being called Dixie. But that's the story I've heard. Tom Bullweed
I got a friend that is a reenactor. I gave him a card once with a $50 bill and had taped an image of the Gen RE Lee over Grant's image.

Guest
In the 90's, many of my friends were calling 20's "yuppie food stamps", as that was the denomination primarily dispensed by an ATM. I remember many nights of having to get more yuppie food stamps to help with the bar bill...

Not Ben. ten is a sawbuck. Because a sawbuck is a device for holding wood so that it may be cut into pieces.[1]Easily made in the field from rough material, it consists of an "X" form at each end which are joined by cross bars below the intersections of the X's.
