Blackwater 53393
Watching an old John Wayne movie last night, I heard for the umpteenth time, the theme music for these old oaters! I like that piece of music! It was written by a William Barber and no title is given in the credits. I’d like to know more, but with the exception of a tiny bit of biographical info on the composer, I find nothing!! Somebody!!! NAME THAT TUNE!! Subdeacon Joe
There might not be a title other than "Theme for (fill in the blank)"

Blackwater 53393
I don’t know the name of this particular one! JW was partnered up with Noah Beery Jr. and it was set in Canada. The theme music is heard in many old westerns that he appeared in. All of those that I recall were Lone Star productions. Not sure if other top bill actors were stars of Lone Star movies. Subdeacon Joe
https://dukewayne.com/index.php?thread/7136-john-wayne-the-lone-star-productions/ https://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/10/prweb10061330.htm Quote PHILADELPHIA, PA (PRWEB) OCTOBER 30, 2012 The films starring Wayne were made by Lone Star Productions and released in theaters by Monogram Pictures from 1933 through 1935. Although all of the films have been available on DVD from many different sources because they have fallen into the public domain (aka PD), these westerns are now available in newly copyrighted, digitally mastered and restored fine quality DVDs transferred from the original 35MM nitrate negative material. Each movie in the series is presented with original music themes added by noted musician Billy Barber, who also wrote The Oak Ridge Boys’ hit “Little Things” and Ray Charles’ “Love is Worth the Pain.” Billy supervised the weaving of the new themes throughout the upgraded soundtracks. As near as I can tell they never had a title beyond theme from XXX. For some movies however, the feature sound tracks did have a name. Here is a listing of music from a lot of his movies and as you can see a lot of the sound tracks were simply listed as theme or opening or closing from movie**** http://www.soundtrackcorner.de/john-waynes-west-in-music-and-poster-art-p3656.htm?force_isolation=true
Trailrider #896
The one I always remember was the background singing in Red River. Never could quite understand the lyrics.
