Uberti 1875 "Remington Outlaw"

Recommended Posts

Has anyone purchased an Uberti 1875 "Remington" outlaw lately?

I was wondering if it has the retractable firing pin installed on it, like the smokeless frame single action Uberti Colt clones do...or the standard hammer/firing pin?

That information will determine if I purchase one myself, or not.

Thanks.

W.K.

Looks like it has the "new" hammer. (Taylor and Co. diagram.)

Actually, that looks like the hammers on my 1875s that are fifteen+ years old.  The Remingtons have a floating firing pin that is replaceable and moves just a little when assembled to pass into the firing pin hole on the frame.  I've never had ANY problem with this setup in any of my four Remingtons.  If this is the current diagram, I think you'll be all right.

I was going by mainly the parts #91, #147 and #150. They look similar to the parts in the new hammer for the cattleman.

as opposed to,

I have no experience with the Remington. I'm just going with what I've learned about my Ubertis.

YEAH!!  The Remington drawings are of the old style hammer as pictured at the bottom of your last post.  If that is the current, (new pistol being sold today) configuration, the firing pin is not retractable.

From the Remington diagram this looks a lot like the new safety hammer.

Probably should just ask the distributor you would like to purchase it from.

Probably the best idea right there.

I've looked at the importers of that gun and the Taylor diagram is the only one that shows it. It isn't mentioned anywhere else.
