Lost an uncle in the Pacific Theatre. Another uncle went ashore on D-day and survived the war. My father was in the occupying force in Japan.

My grandsons know this and will NOT forget!

My Uncle Earl Roberson was on the Oklahoma. Survived being blown off the ship and swimming ashore.

Look at the 4th line.

U.S. ARIZONA

This was salvaged from the Arizona. It is my fathers service jacket.

It is in my possession.

The event will not be forgotten in my house either.

December 7th has a special meaning to me; so, I will never forget the terrible event that occurred in HI 30 years before.  December 7th 1971 was the date I was discharged from the Army at Ft. Riley Kansas.  I, my wife & 1 year old daughter couldn't wait to get home to the SF Bay area.  There was a terrible winter storm that closed I-80 in Wyoming; so, we headed south into an ice storm that lasted until the elevation in New Mexico turned the freezing rain into snow.

I hope that the country will never forget "Pearl Harbor".
