I know they sell them, but you have to buy a bunch, and I only want one.

I want to put it on my coffee thermos.

Anybody got one laying around they can mail me?

My Black Rifle Coffee order will be here in a few days. They always enclose a sticker. It won’t say corrosive but it might be funny.

Before I changed jobs I would have just walked into the placards room and sent you one. But the best I can do now is tell you that truckstops sell individual PLACARDS not labels.

Sounds like you want a box shipping label not a full sized truck hazmat placard

You are correct sir. One of those 4-inch square diamonds.

The problem with printing your own would be the exposure to heat and spillage. You will need a good vinyl sticker for sure.

Loophole, the page that links to says the minimum quantity is 50, which is $25.

All you need to do is find 49 friends who want one.

You do have 49 friends, right?

Few things are "funnier" than wondering whether something is actually dangerous, as labeled, or just some jerk screwing around with stickers.

Find something else to make jokes with.

The number of things that are listed as HAZMAT when shipped in bulk commodity is staggering. Coke syrup is class 8 corrosive. Dawn dish soap is a class 9 miscellaneous marine pollutant.

Most folks wouldn't go into a grocery or walmart if they knew how much HAZMAT went in the back door. But the consumer commodity exception means no placards for final delivery.

That is a damn good question.

I'll have to get back to you on that.

I’ll take one, maybe two!

I walked into a Woolworths store back in the 80s. They had just put out their summer stock. They had a big display for “All your swimming pool maintenance needs”. Leaf nets, hoses, filters, ph testers, etc. And a tall pyramid that must have taken a while to build. Very eye catching.

It was made of alternating gallon jugs of chlorine and muriatic acid!

I had a brief chat with the manager.

But that makes such a pretty green cloud

I had chemical pneumenosis from some idjit dumping an acid bath down a cyanide rinse pipe. Luckily I had just treated the batch holding tank with caustic soda and bleach or it would have been a BLUE cloud that I couldn't talk about.

Even too much of a good thing can hurt you....

Good thing Woolworth's had an emergency response plan:

"Clean up on aisle Three - bring your mop and your gas mask!"
