Female counterpart to a Knight

When the queen designates a man to 'Knighthood' status,  they are a "Knight".

Has there ever been a female counterpart and if so, what was their status designation?

Dame is a noble title and the female equivalent of the honour of knighthood in the British honours system and several other countries such as Australia and among European orders of chivalry. The word "damehood" is rarely used but it is shown, on the official British Monarchy website, as being the correct term.

Well, I was considering it after I talk to the other Council members to get their input.

There would certainly have to be some definite qualifications and requirements.

Stay tune!  ;)

Oh cummon Widder.  A Jedi is a Jedi.  There is no "Gender" consideration.  There are a couple of "Lady Gunfighters" out there whom more than fit the requirements for inclusion as "Jedi."
