Is there another wave of the Zombie Apocalypse coming? I was at Walmart yesterday and the TP shelves were EMPTY again!  Are people that scared of a second wave, or a Biden Presidency?

The Governor here is threatening to close bars, restaurants and gyms and people are already freaking out about a household items shortage! People are idiots and so is our Governor Mike DeWine Ohio RINO

Been out of TP at Costco outside of Seattle an hour or so for a couple of weeks.  I was there 30 min after open yesterday and managed to snag one of the last packs...Limit 1 signs all over it but you could see by the empty pallets it went fast.

I think initial scare was riots if Trump win, and once media started running articles about a second shortage everyone goes out and buys more...

Most folks are afraid that they won’t be able to conveniently wipe the Kamala Harris off of their Joe Biden!!!

A local paper goods store has had a carton of TP available now and then for curbside pickup.  OTOH, paper towels at the local supermarket chain is generally restricted to two packages of 6=12 or somesuch per order. (Kroger chain in metro-Denver).  I have taken to ordering my meds in 90-day supplies.  For some, my insurance doesn't cover, and the cost is horrific!  So far, I can get printer paper from one of two office supply chain stores.  I suppose, if we run out of TP...:o

Stay well and safe, Pards! Our country could be in for a rough ride!

Just came home from WalMart.  With the governor's health order starting Monday there will be long lines for grocery shopping.  I bought everything on my list.  Eggs were sold out though I didn't need any.  I wish the governor didn't close outdoor recreation facilities.  Golf courses, tennis courts and outdoor shooting facilities are not super spreader sites.

Put on a mask & wash your hands often. Take vitamin C and use some sense.

This “Nanny State” BS is just that. Nanny State BS!

This just gives bureaucrats and government workers another excuse to stay home, get full pay and benefits, not do 75% of their job but still pull people around by their noses.
If they can stay home they are “Non-Essential” and should be treated as such. Furloughs all around!

EDIT: Uh...never mind...

As soon as the Gov locked down New Mexico, the Farmington, NM people overran WM. I saw lots of NM plates in the parking lot.

A friend who lived in Germany about half of his life then Japan for about 6 years installed bidets about a year ago and has nicely avoided all this toilet paper shortage. He says he won't go back to ever needing to worry about toilet paper.

We'll have much larger problems than tp/no tp at that point. ;)

Replace one of your toilets with a bidet.  Or if you can hack a cold water blast get a Tushy.   One increased the life of a roll of TP from 3 days to a couple of weeks when the misses gifted me one for my birthday.

I did notice that my local wholesale club was very short of paper goods

Costco here was out of paper towels. Floor manager said it was a local miscalculation and that a whole truck would be there by 3:00 pm I got every other thing I needed without a problem.

GREAT IDEA!!   But that's not what I asked.

Perhaps I should go into more detail. I'm not trying to bust your chops, J.D., but I'm asking about the attitude of people. The T.P. is just a symptom.

Are people going to start the "craziness of The Zombie Apocalypse again? They hoarded T.P last Spring because they were afraid that there would be a shortage. Since they were hoarded it, there was a shortage.

Is this what's happening now, or is it something else?

"....Is this what's happening now, or is it something else?..."

its hard to say for sure at this point , i think you have a bit of everything out there in the scattergun fashion , so much unknown and uncertainty , folks dont take that well and react in some really weird ways , i really never thought of TP as that essential - guess growin up knowin of corn cobs and the sears robuck catalog always made me feel comfortable in that area , yet i wonder if folks arent thinking things are changing and not real happy with the prospects , those that voted it in will get what they asked for and all of us will live with the decision and its ramifications , we always have , change - good or bad ,

i think its the above , but it could actually turn into the zombie thing i suppose , in that case i hope everyone is prepared , a civil war may well be on the horizon , i just think we have become too civil to start shooting except in the inner city that is already shooting regularly - if it stays there it might work to our benefit , if not - keep your powder dry and aim careful ,

all of this , in my mind , has been driven by politics-media-attention seekers , every other epidemic in history has been met head on without all this , there were a number of them in the previous administration that only got usual attention - the ebolla got volunteers and contributions , in the past we seemed to let aids run its course with normal medical attention to good practice and adjusting lifestyles [or not] with all of them going away for all practical purposes ,

i am not trying to play down all of the concerns - just put them in perspective , no need to panic here , life will go on , or the inevitable will happen and we will die , why get your panties in a bunch till then ?  use good common sense given your own circumstances - leave your neighbors alone to do the same , and if we turn into a country of national socialists i want no part of any of it ,

that does seem to be where we are headed tho

I am so damn sick and tired of about 90% of what's currently going on in this country. From politics to the virus, to the total intolerance.

It is places like this that offer a respite from the lunacy.  Just remember 11/8/22!

I read a notice put out by the Jonesburg, Missouri police department that there has been a rash of car thief and break ins in communities along I70.  They are saying it's part of a much bigger organisation.  I would speculate it's a crime elements from St. Louis making quick strikes out in areas that were generally safe from big city crime. How long before home break ins?   Home invasion?  Looting?

There was a time when everyone know everyone in the country.  No longer.  1000x the population and I hardly know anyone much less recognize a suspicious vehicle or activity.  I cringe when I meet an unmarked closed box van in our area. I'm thinking whose house they cleaned out?

Here in CA, Newsom is proposing a state-wide curfew.  No doubt this will be followed by martial law, gun confiscation (for your own protection) and finally civil war.

This is a proven and time-tested process and sequence of events.
This will no doubt precipitate another hoarding of essentials.
