I Voted.....be careful

Howdy,

I saw an article on tv about people putting the little I VOTED  stickers on the grave marker

of the lady who got women the vote.  It seems they have covered the marker with plastic

because the stickers were damaging the stone itself in past years.

You might want to be careful where you stick those things.

In past years I have had a difficult time getting all the sticker off of things.

Car parts especially.

After the initial display remove the sticker and wash the area with whatever lifts the glue.

Try Dawn detergent or maybe windex??

Best

Something we noticed today on our drive. That was a conspicuous lack of campaign signs.  I'd say they were down to only a few percent of what were up yesterday and before.

I only speculate that people don't want to identify themselves with a candidate and maybe be a victim of vandalism or worse.

On our first Kia, the wife had her I  voted sticker end up on the driver's door arm rest. Took quite a bit of effort to remove it. After that, no stickers are put on clothing anymore. If  given one, it doesn't get peeled off the backing:blink::rolleyes::blush:

WD40 will lift adhesive,  it is a solvent not a lubricant.

Also cuts grease and oil then use Dawn or other dish soap to wash off the mess.

Howdy,

Dawn bottle empty? Try filling the empty Dawn bottle with water.

Use that mild solution to wash eyeglasses or sunglasses.

Dry with soft synthetic cloth.

The trick with glasses is to NOT remove those thin layers of glare stopper.

Also works on cd and dvd removing 'stuff'.

Platinum Dawn and hot water can lift most brake dust. worth a try anyhoo.

That’s right! Any mess is easier to clean up once you’ve burned it to ashes!!! :D

(I know lighter fluid has uses beyond burning, but the burning is the most fun)

Guess you think I'm joking?.....

Ever read the label?

I wouldn't use anything else to clean high dollar guitars.

No offense intended.  I use it to clean as well, and said so after I stated my "Bonfire Theory of Grand Mess Abatement".

I did not mean to sound like I was offended. Sorry if my reply came off that way.

That is the trouble with the typed word, sometimes they do not come out sounding the way they were intended.

got a chuckle , ive used it for so long i forget there are those that dont know how well it cleans/cuts grease and adhesive , i could understand some not knowing how to fill one of the old lighters ...i use one still on occasion even tho ive gone to the windproof torch for my cigars these days ,

as an aside did anyone else ever experience the skin burn if your lighter leaked that fluid ? i think i overfilled mine ,

Lighter fluid is the same as Goof-Off.

Goof Off is acetone. Lighter fluid is Naptha.

MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) is a good solvent for some adhesives.  It is flammable too.

MEK is nasty stuff and should never be used without the proper PPE. It will damage most plastics and automotive finishes.
