I used one of those straps to lift a complete small block Chevrolet engine and automatic transmission!!

 

They’re stronger than you think!

Yeah…. If you look carefully just to the left of the shaded area you can barely make out “Coors” behind the paint…  :rolleyes:

Looks like it tire wrapped. My son complained years ago the the s10 was hopping sometimes. 

Rode with him and never experienced it til one day I was helping him plug a tire and saw a bald strip about a strap wide and a frayed strap end hanging out from under the tailgate. Had an AHA moment then.

The 70's vintage Toyotas & Datsuns had very thin panels.  Of course the truck in the picture isn't one of those.
