After the Soviet invasion, the Finns, in order to both counterbalance Soviet aggression and to gain back the territory lost during the Winter War, allied themselves with Nazi Germany. More of allowing German troops free passage to attack the Soviets than actually fighting alongside of the Germans. Then they ended up opposing Germany when they refused to pull their troops out per the treaty.
