Never noticed the Webley in Maltese Falcon. All I remember a baby Browning, a coupla 1911s and a Colt or Smith revolver?

Beginning of the movie, when Sam's partner, Miles Archer, was shot. The murder weapon was a Wesley Fosbery automatic revolver. The only time it is seen in the movie is that screen grab up there, where the cop shows it the Sam and tells him it's the murder weapon.

Since they’re  were so many westerns, they almost all used the iconic Colt SAA!! I’d say that’s the most iconic firearm ever!

The French Connection- S&W model 36 - might actually be in more movies than the model 10

The movie “Them” - Colt Detective Special. Okay...probably in more movies than the two S&Ws I posted...and yes, I picked a lame movie. But this one scared the bejesus out of me when I was a kid. I have always wanted a Colt Detective Special.

Watching it in slow motion, it looks to go more straight out in front to me, but definitely far from upward!

Doc W,

Agreed. It's still a truly great movie shootout scene.

One rifle I have never seen in a movie is the Colt Lightning.

Another pistol is the Merwin Hulbert.I happened to see it in a movie because of the way he was loading it.

I did some looking & it was actually used in a few movies.

Dutch Coroner nailed it.

Movie:  Stagecoach (1939)

Scene:  Ringo stops the stage

Firearm:  Winchester 1892

Actor:  John Wayne

Director:  John Ford

Rating:  Masterpiece

No other western, no other scene has matched it in the ensuing 81 years.

Also in the Gidget TV show, one episode had Gidget going to a shooting gallery at a carnival, and the rifle she used was a Lightning.
