Pat Riot
What happened at Alliant? I think someone dropped their brain and forgot to dust it off when they put it back. ALL of their load data is messed up online. It’s like they decided to let lawyers dictate their load data and didn’t pay them enough so they tossed out a bunch of info... Anyway, there ain’t a lot out there on Black MZ .45 Colt http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?359985-Chronograph-Results-with-Black-MZ Maybe it’s because they quit making it? http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?403372-Alliant-Black-Mz Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Warden Callaway
I use 1cc for everything. I put a filler plug of a piece of 1/3 of Uhaul packing peanut on top of 38WCF and 44WCF. None on C45S or 38 Special. Makes tons of smoke and plenty powerful.
Kid Rich
Black MZ is the same as APP 3f. Use it the same as BP but DO NOT compress it as the results will be erratic. kR

Fill the case so that when the bullet is seated it just touches the powder with no compression. For 12 ga Primer of choice Remington STS, Nitro, or Gun Club hull. Federal Top Gun Hulls also work 3 cc of powder WAA12L or similar wad seated firmly over the powder 26 grams ( 15/16 ounce) of shot You can use AA hulls but you will have to adjust the shot load down slightly to get a good crimp. Colorado Coffinmaker
Black MZ is an excellent propellent. As stated above, load data is simple. Fill the case to the bottom of the bullet, no compression. If you want/lake a lighter load, reduce the powder, add filler so there is no Air Space. My choice for filler is Cream-0-Wheat. If you like shooting a really good Sub, Pick up all of the Black MZ you can. PS: Black MZ however, does NOT meter thru most powder measures. Scoop and Dump.
