I am eligible to shoot in the Elder Statesman age class. I have Vaqueros, 1894/1873, and internal hammer SxS. Not doing B-Western. Q: is there any class I can shoot Gunfighter style? We don't have the bling leather for B-Western. I've seen Tully Mars shoot Gunfighter style at our local matches. Impressive with a capital "I" for certain... Mud Marine,SASS#54686 Life Posted October 17, 2020 Share Posted October 17, 2020 I am an El Rey that shoots wart hog loads of Holy Black using Gunfighter style. I always ask to be allowed to do that. I have yet to be turned down. Gunfighter is the only style that is restricted. That is a remnant of the Guncontrol BS of the early days. I do not shoot black powder. You can shoot frontier cartridge gunfighter using the equipment you currently have. You just have to use a black powder or black powder substitute propellant. Griff Posted October 18, 2020 Share Posted October 18, 2020 Generally, I sign up in the age category I qualify for and if I want to shoot "gunfighter style" I write "gunfighter" after it.
