Wild Willi
If you have the grip frame the trigger , hammer and top allen screws, is it a bolt on job to convert a Vaquaro to Bisley or do you have to widen the slot for the hammer on the frame of the gun, same with the trigger is it a drop in on the reciever or does it need to be fitted. Thanks, Ww
doc roy l. pain
Cylinder frame is the same for vaquero and bisley vaquero. If it’s a new vaquero cylinder frame and an original bisley grip frame, you will have to grind the ears on the front of the grip frame because the new vaquero cylinder frame does not have the cutouts to accommodate them. doc roy l. pain
Nothing should have to be machined. Basically a drop in with a little tuning.
VICIOUS, SASS#8014
Sometimes a drop in perfect fit IF the both guns are about the same date of manufacture. That is when swapping grip frames on one gun to the other. Twice it was fine the third time the Blackhawk grip stepped above the frame on the other. The Bisley grip frame was short of reaching the top of the frame and the front of the grip frame on the right hand side had to be filed down to match. There was no gaps in the mating surfaces and all screws fit in and tightened with no issues. Yes it works and those that have done it Easley will swear it always fits perfect. Do it often enough and you too will find out the facts.
