You could just use the term crocodilian, which covers both of them. But if you would really like to be able to tell

Alligator-vs.-Crocodile-1.jpg

alligators - that's the one on the right - have a broad face. The tip of his snout is almost as wide as the back of his skull.

Crocodiles - those are the two on the left - have a skinny snout. There are a few different species of Crocs. And as you can see, they don't all have the same shape face. But the snouts on all crocodiles taper towards a point. And they are much skinnier than an alligator.

While on the subject of gators/ crocs.    How about transporting those troublesome beasts found in suburban neighborhoods to the Rio Grande,  2 birds with one with 1 stone    GW

Probably can't because of the uproar from environmentalists every time we try to battle one invasive species with another invasive species...

Gator and crocks are not invasive species. Gators are native to TX and it would be an act of conservation to restore them to ancestral habitat.

Crocs used to inhabit large portions of the gulf coast so returning them to ancestral habitat would be a good thing as they are considered an endangered species.

Those goats are able to do that for a very simple reason. They can't read. They can eat a physics textbook, with no problem. But if they were able to read a physics textbook, then they would know that it would be impossible for them to be on the side of a cliff like that. And they would fall off.

It's the same as bees. Bees are illiterate. They don't know that it is impossible for them to fly, so they fly.

Majoring in journalism no doubt...or maybe  political science.

I'm sure it is an art major. But the other two could be minors, they would provide alternate paths to pay for the art degree.

Unless it is a misspelling, then it probably is journalism as the major.

You win the grand prize for a great solution to more than one problem.  Not politically correct, but then again, neither am I.  :D
