H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619
A few months ago, something broke in my Dad's Colt. Since I live in New England, I drove down to West Hartford and the Colt plant and said, "Please fix this." Well, today, I got it back from the factory. They replaced the trigger and the spring that's in the grip. [I can never remember if it's called the hammer spring, main spring, or something else.] Anyway, the gun is functioning as good as new, and everything is just as it should be. Total cost to me; zero dollars and zero cents. You gotta love that life time warranty. Dad's Colt will be with me at the range from time to time for many years to come. So three cheers to Colt for their excellent customer service. HUZZAH HUZZAH HUZZAH

H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619
According to the serial number, it was made in 1977, so I guess it's a very early 3rd Gen. I'm reasonably sure I've fired it more than my Dad ever did. He was a trap shooter, now a cowboy. Even so, in many ways, in spite of having an EXTENSIVE collection of Cowboy guns, this one remains my favorite. I think it always will be.

The prices and availability of Colt SAA have come to point were I've been able to traid into a few. I have Uberti, etc. But for some reason they just don't feel like a Colt. H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619
I have ones made by Colt, Uberti, Armi San Marco, Great Western, and someone else that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head. To be honest, I can't really feel an appreciable difference in my hands, but I don't discount that some people can. For example, I can't hear the difference between a CD and vinyl, but I can SEE the difference in video quality in various monitors and projectors, so I believe that others can sense things that I can not. That being said, even though I may not be able to physically feel a difference, I will say that shooting a real Colt just "feels" really cool somehow. Just like shooting a real Winchester 73 is a lot more fun than Uberti copy. Or even better, a real Colt Lighting is a great treat, even though I love my AWAs. Tequila Shooter
Glad that such a beautiful gun with so many memories was treated so good at Colt. Keep shooting it and keep the tradition alive.
