Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103
I'm with the Subdeacon on that one about at least it wasn't the trailer hitch! Cracked my Shin Bone on the ball hitch behind a Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 a few years ago at work. My attention was elsewhere as my mission was urgent. I hit that hitch hard enough the entire truck rang. I said a bad word.

Forty Rod SASS 3935
When I worked for McDonnell Douglas the engineers had a picture posted on the wall showing a pilot and gunner seated one behind the other in full flight gear, several thousand feet in the air...with no plane around them anywhere. Someone put a note under it that suggested we just tell the Soviets that we had one and were building more and let them worry if were telling the truth or not. Smoken D
When they fly over my place it's like heck to see them. Hear the engines which have a distinctive sound, but finding them in the air just ain't easy. Unless straight over you can't see them. I can see them straight over, but once at a distance they just disappear right before your eyes. I have complained over and over to the base that they just don't fly low enough. Guy at the other end gives a complete silence not knowing what to say because all they ever get is complaints jets fly too low and scare the goats. Charlie Harley, #14153
My parents live under a Military Training Area (MTA) in southern Ohio. The Air Force uses it for dogfight training, which can be fun to watch while sitting on their porch, especially so in the winter when contrails give a running record of who’s winning. About ten years ago a local group raised a stink about noise, and the Air Force published a number to call to complain in real time. One day they were dogfighting and my dad called to complain, but only to say that they were too high and he couldn’t clearly see the planes. He was put through to the wing commander, and they had a nice chat, old Air Force vet to active Air Force officer.

It's the outline of the drone that's similar in shape and about 2/3's smaller. Saw them several times leaving 42, before we moved. They would head out with a Cessna 180 as escort to the drone base off of 240 East and PMD Blvd. Sure do miss those daily airshows from Plant 42. Big Sage, SASS #49891 Life
The new, next generation stealth bomber is the B-22 and does look similar to the shadow, but it's not in production yet. The trailing edge is the big difference in the planform. I worked on the B-2 during my career in aerospace.

If it was in fact the shadow of an airplane, that would be because the airplane was between the floor and the light source, and you would see the shadow because the airplane was blocking the light source. Now notice that you can see the lights all over the hanger floor, reflecting from the ceiling lights. If that was in fact a shadow, you would not be able to have lights on the floor in the shadow. The body of the aircraft that made the shadow would prevent the ceiling lights from hitting the floor . I personally believe it is a painting on the floor. Forty Rod SASS 3935
It was going around that Zack Mosley, the creator of the Smilin' Jack comic strip, was to be arrested for revealing info in his Sunday strip about a new bomber that we were building. A B-52. He proved that the info was readily available from more that a few sources and was left alone.. At the end of reach Sunday's strip there was a box telling the readers about a new air craft: ours or anyone else's. The man did lot of research to get the facts right.
