So much of what has been discovered, designed and utilized in the Space Program has actually been useful in everyday life, like food packaging, water filters, etc.

Check these out.

Memory foam is one of my favorite spinoff products.
Velcro is cool too, but NASA simply popularized an existing product.

One of my earliest memories of being grossed out was when I watched an episode of Cosmos, and Carl Sagan said that the air and water molecules I breathe in daily had at some point been expelled by other people or animals, often from either end.

One of my college engineering statistics questions was to figure out the odds of breathing in a molecule of 02 that had been breathed in by Ceaser. having figured it out, I then generalized the solution for Genghis Khan, Cleopatra, and a few other notable historical figures.

I did not, however, calculate if I ever drank any of their pee. It wasn't asked.
