Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Just read a note over on the Fishing Forum where Nevada has completed a passage on the Derby Dam for the Lahontan Cutthroat to return to the Truckee river from Pyramid Lake. Traditionaly the Lahontan Cutts Spawn in the upper Truckee, but the construction of the dam cut off their passage way. They are a unique species of Cutthroats. Back in the day when the river and lake were fished solely by the indigenous people, reportedly the lake gave up Cutts of up to 60 pounds. Fish of late have been much smaller. Then again you know how fishermen lie.
