Pat Riots surgery yesterday

This thread gives me an idea for a new insult. When some guy gives you a hard time you could say:

“Oh yeah? Well at least I’m not a limp-wristed nose-picker like you!”

The nurse in the surgery center asked if I had any metal in my body.

I listed off:

4 Metal rib plates and screws

Staples in my large intestine

half a knee replacement

plate and screws right #1 metatarsal

She said “Wow, that’s a lot!”

I said “Not even close. I am going for the complete set. Hopefully with optics and lasers too!” :D

She laughed.

My neighbours did object to the cannon fire however.

How big is that cannon?
It looks a bit small, but I would still like to have one.
Seriously? Your neighbors got upset?

.490 ball, if I ever have the nerve to try it.

I've only ever fired "Salutes" with it.

It sends a flaming Kleenex wad quite a way!

I found mini cannons on a couple of sites.
When @Birdgun Quail, SASS #63663 posted some of his cool videos I was tempted to buy one. Maybe I need to add one to my Christmas list.

These look more economical. Like Rugers vs Colts (above) ;)

Here are some cool kits from Dixie Gunworks.

Doing well. No pain or numbness. That's a good sign.  I am so ready to get this cast / brace thing off. I have another 8 days of wearing this thing.

Thank you for asking. :)

Just for Pat's entertainment....and for those who haven't seen my exciting cannon videos with so much gore.

It's been a couple of years since I posted these videos, but here they are again!

The first of these three videos is shooting just round shot.  It's a single round BB shot.

The second is of approximately 165 #12 shot.  This represents the anti-personnel round called, canister.

The third video is of #12 shot over a single BB ball.  This is the type of load Capt. Mercer at the Battle of Waterloo used against charging French cavalry.

Are you ready???  If you don't like gore, this is not for the faint of heart!

Single BB shot.

#12 shot - like canister.

#12 shot over single BB shot.

Well, Pat, I also have a .50 cal cannon.  But I have to take it to a range or other safe firearms location to shoot it.  The BB cannon I can shoot in my back yard without worry of injuring a neighbor.

How loud is the .17 cal in relation to like a .22 LR or pellet gun?

The crack is about like shooting .22 LR out of a revolver.  It's a crack that the close neighbors might hear.  My next door neighbors don't care as they know "Birdgun's shooting his little cannon again."  I still let them know if they're home what I'm doing.  And, it's not like you're going to be shooting in rapid succession.
