Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381
A self-described "transsexual Satanist anarchist" has won the Republican nomination for the sheriff’s job in Cheshire County, N.H. -- a victory she says proves “the system is utterly and hopelessly broken.” WTH? Forty Rod SASS 3935
Then she should be required to refuse the post and not accept the position.
J-BAR #18287
I believe elective positions should go to those who don’t want them. Career politicians aren’t all that great. Give her (him? It?) a chance. Might do ok.
Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619
I recognize the country still, but I don't recognize Cheshire County, N.H. anymore.
Chantry
I'm trying to decide who is more at fault, the voters for not doing any research or the Republican Party in NH who failed to come up with a viable alternative to the "transsexual Satanist anarchist". And how many of us would do virtually anything to avoid becoming an elected official or politician?
LongHair
There is no amount of money that could get me to run for office these days. The amount of smearing and accusations? Nope, I would never put my family through that.
Utah Bob #35998
I have seen many strange things happen in New Hampster in the past few decades. Actually nothing that goes on there surprises me any more. And Bernie's from right next door.
Dantankerous
Rrmember a few years back when a scientific exploration group ran a public contest to choose a name for their new ship and the most popular name voted in by a landslide was Boaty McBoatface? Looks like kinda the same here. This WILL be interesting, especially if he/she wins the general election.
Pat Riot
This country is the same. It’s just that the misfits feel empowered and the brain dead wombats in the media promote their stupidity and immaturity.
Yellowhouse Sam # 25171
Ironic that this person hit the nail on the head in describing the state of the country.

watab kid
so - what do we do about it ? we have remained silent so long they think we no longer care , are they correct in that thinking ? i dont think so - just waiting for the stick to hit the nest in the right place ... watching the streets and waiting till it comes to us ... still not ready to say "enough already" ...im not so sure , but i know first hand the liberals are buying guns and asking us at local ranges to show them how to load them and operate them , funny how they think nothing of buying when they 'need' them and cannot understand why they cant get them at a grocery store or on line like they thought they could ,
Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619
So run for public office. My wife served 30 years in local public (unpaid) office. She won 5 consecutive elections. I ran twice for local office, and mercifully lost both times, but I threw my hat into the ring in my time. I give money; I show up for testimony before councils and committees. We are a self-governing republic. Our local councils, boards, and our legislatures used to be filled with lawyers, insurance agents, owners of car dealerships, real estate agents, small businessmen and tradesmen of all kinds. Main-streeters. Now they have checked out, don't run, and just complain incessantly. Frankly, I am so tired of the futile complaints of people who 'deplore' the state of politics. The middle classes of productive people had better get back into the game and act. Bury your talents in the ground because you are 'afraid'....You'll pay for it now and hereafter. At least this person ran for office. How many ineffectual complainers didn't?
South-Eye Ned
I’m not worried about a NH anarchist as much as I’m worried about the Democrat Party becoming the de facto Socialist Party. I sound like a conspiracy theorist, I know, but the Dem Party platform for 2020 spells it out pretty clearly in comparison to the 2016 version.
