Cowboy lives don't matter

in the Gunsmoke episode Texas Cowboy a cowboy is shot in the back.  Matt shuts down Front St and the business leaders spokesman said "it was just a cowboy" and went on about the money they would miss if Matt closes Front St.  I guess cowboy lives don't matter, only their money.

Cowboy lives did not matter. Cowboys were tolerated because of the money they brought to the town. They brought the herd of cows, the herd was sold the cowboys were paid, then they spent the money they were paid. Cowboys were scum. They were not allowed to associate with the good people of the town. They were not allowed in the nice neighborhoods. They had to stay down by the tracks, by the cattle pens and saloons and bawdy houses.

Seems like that episode was based on historical fact.

I am tempted to say "all lives matter", but I would be criticized by using the word "all", by the liberal socialists protesters out there.

I did get the last word in, not long ago.  I was confronted at the local chain grocery store about saying BLM.

I responded by saying...well, do you think unborn black lives matter? That stopped her in her tracks.

Seems like that is one side of the issue that they can't handle.

While they ponder that question, I think I'll clean my Hawken, and anticipate the upcoming deer season down here.

True.  In a town large enough, there would be saloons for the gents and saloonS for the cowboys....another set of saloons for the African-Americans.  Only soiled doves were allowed in any of them.
